Meet Bud and Jenny,

Q:   How long have you lived in the area? Did you go to any of the local schools

A:   Bud has lived his whole life in here at Indiana for 66 years. Jenny lived for more than 15 years in this area ever since she moved from Newyork.

Q   : how many children do you have?

A   : We have two sons. They were born here in Indiana, growing up and went to school here too. My first son went to Purdue University. and my second child went to Wabash College studying law.  We are Farmer family, owner of Dowden farms in Wingate. Two sons grew up raising cows and planting corns and beans with us. Bibimbop, Japchae, and Bulgogi are their favorite foods and I cook this for them the same way as I cook in the restaurant.

Q   : Name one of your favorite family activities to do in the greater Lafayette area?

A    : Just like any other grandparents, we love spending our time with our grandchild. We like to take our grandchild to Colombia park in Lafayette whenever we have a chance.

Q   : What is your favorite childhood memory?

A   :  We both loved planting flowers and vegetables as a child. I remember that I really enjoy spending my time taking care of the flowers. My mother loved flowers, especially purple ires flower and white hydrangea. Watering and planting flowers were my favorite part that I never once complained as a young girl. later when I grew up, I found out the name of the flower that my mother loved and I plant it in my house in West Lafayette. For him, he often told me how much he loved spending time in a cornfield when he was young. He was born in farmer family and farm field was his childhood playground. Still in these days, whenever he has something to think about, he would go to the middle of the cornfield and he would instantly feel calm and stress-free. For these reasons, we always keep plants and fresh flowers in the restaurant all year round.

Q   : what is something interesting about the greater Lafayette area that not really well-known something interesting?

A   :  Korean popularity in greater Lafayette is bigger then what people would think. and as for that reason, there is quite many Korean restaurants in this town. Korean food generally has a distinctive character to it and because of that, some of the authentic Korean dishes we serve may not be everyone's favorite. But Korean food is known as healthy food especially kimchi. It is the salted and fermented vegetable and it is known for Lactobacillus, that help us break down food, absorb nutrient and fight bad germs.
